My Homeschool Daily Schedule: Kindergarten

Today I am sharing My Homeschool Daily Schedule for Kindergarten for the 2023-24 homeschool year, plus a free printable schedule (bottom of post). This goes along with my recent post, Our Charlotte Mason-Inspired Kindergarten Plans for the 2023-24 homeschool year with a peek at our organizational drawers. Now, here's our schedule.

​Charlotte Mason said to post your schedule in the homeschool room. Ours is posted on a bulletin board.

You can post a family one or one per child. This is ours. It's for our Kindergarten year.

We used the color block at the top to write the grade (but you can also write the student's name or the school year).

Next, I planned in mealtimes (8:00 am - breakfast, 12:00 pm - lunch, and 5:00 pm - dinner.) 

After breakfast is morning time. It you haven't planned for morning time, here are 5 Ideas for Planning Your Morning Time.

We will be doing Prayer, Pledge, Memory Verse, Calendar Time, and a Copybook Primer.

Next, we plan for an indoor lesson time. We follow the schedule on the Kindergarten Booklist except for one thing.

We are adding a daily phonics time. We will be using Phonics 1 by Rod & Staff (Units 1 & 2). 

If you're not sure how to teach reading, this has thorough, step-by-step instruction! Use for two years: Grades K to 1.

​Next, we plan for an outdoor time. In kindergarten, we plan for 3 outdoor times:

• Morning: more structure with games, sand play, water play, etc.
• Afternoon: during free time from 1 to 4 (less structured) for romping and discovery or pretend, child-lead play.
• Before dinner: with Daddy at park so mom can cook dinner and get a break.

Enrichments (especially Poetry & Tea) can be outdoors too!

Finally, we plan for outings. 

Our weekly outings for this year are a library story hour and ballet class.

Fridays also include errands with lunch-out.

We run a little gift shop, under our home, so outings have to be limited due to hours.
