What is the summer challenge? The summer challenge is a 20-day makeover. Each day, I will give you two tasks: (1) Better You, and (2) Better home.
Why I'm doing it? I know I need to refresh myself and my home this summer. It's going to be a lot of fun and very uplifting. I want to encourage and celebrate each other! Plus, when you complete a lesson and do both tasks, you can win a prize!
What is the prize? Each day you complete both tasks, enter a comment below (such as "I did it" or simply share about your day and experience doing the challenge) and each comment will be an entry to win a $25 off coupon to our curriculum. Psst! The real prize is a refreshed home & you!
What do I need? Nothing. You can simply do the 15-minutes tasks under each lesson. Optional: We will be doing a Total Home Makeover: A 20 Day Plan to Renew Your Space & Spirit and you may prefer to read along. If so, you will want to get that book. I wrote this book in 2012.

Day 1 - Let's Chat . . . about Daily Routines!
- Better You - Track 1,200 calories on myfitnesspal.com and exercise for 15+ minutes.
- Better Home - Customize your morning and evening routine to fit your lifestyle. Try to include the seven daily tasks. Analyze for efficiency. Write it down and post it on your fridge. Complete it!
- Reading Along? Optional - Read Total Home Makeover, Welcome & Day 1.
The Seven Daily Tasks (Total Home Makeover, p. 32)
- Make your bed. (I like to air the bedroom too, by opening a window for 10 minutes.)
- Deal with obvious dirt (ex. wiping dirty counters or sweeping a dirty kitchen floor as needed)
- Attack laundry (complete one load a day to avoid the pile up)
- Prepare meals
- Wash the dishes (and shine sink, counters, and stove)
- Attend to correspondence (mail, papers, and phone calls)
- Hit the hot spots (A hot spot is where clutter gathers. It needs to find a home.)
