What a blessing it is to be a mother in the home. We create a lovely atmosphere when we clean the house, wash the clothes, turn on a hymn, sit to play. or read a book. While the world says chasing money, career, status, attention is important, we know that serving our family by being homekeepers is our purpose and is what brings real joy from the Lord. Really? Doing the dishes is going to bring me joy? Yes. Clean the sink until it shines. This is in my plans, btw. Then make a pot roast and set the table as pretty as you can. Does your family respond? Homekeeping is a valid career choice and that means we get to stay at home. Staying at home (running around less) creates stability for our children. It can create order. In making My Mother's Plans for a Happy Home, I wanted to go beyond a booklist to include: personal devotions, fitness, homekeeping, beauty, etiquette, mother culture, and enrichments. I'm really excited to share how I planned each in this series. But it started with a simple schedule. This is what my schedule looks like for Term 1.
*Beauty rotation changes each term. Today, I'm sharing my plans for personal devotions. First, I chose 3 books.
All three can be read for free online, but I have the King James Bible in print. I like the KJV for its literary beauty. Truly. I'm one of those who enjoyed Shakespeare in school. :) Next, I scheduled readings for Day 1 and Day 3 (which take about 15 minutes). I can have "freely lead" devotions other days, but these are my intentional plans for the year. Day 1 - Read 1 chapter of Genesis in King James Bible (or choose a book you want) -Read Streams in the Desert Devotional (free online) -Pray without ceasing Day 2 -Read 1 chapter of Genesis in King James Bible - Read selection from Beacons Lights of History, Volume 1 -Pray without ceasing Summary: So, to plan your personal devotions, you can choose 3 resources (one being a book of the Bible) and schedule in 2 days per week. That's it! In the next part of this series, I will share my plans for physical fitness. To make your own motherhood plans more intentional use Mom Planner Free Printable or

Hey Rene. My husband and I ordered the teacher bundle from you. Unfortunately we bought the wrong grade. We also left a message right after in hopes that we could figure something out before it prints and ships. It has already shipped. Is there any way we can figure this out. Thank you.

Gloria, I received your email and ordered the correct book (first grade). I'm sorry if my email didn't reach you, but I did make the correction. No worries. Also, please allow 2 weeks for printing and shipping. Thank you!
