Today, I'm sharing My Yearly Charlotte Mason Homeschool Plans for the 2024-25 year (Part 1 - Time Table/Schedule - Term 1 only). My planning is in three parts: schedule, booklist, and lesson plans.
In this first part, I want to give you a look at our Time-Table (Schedule) for Term 1. Just in case you want to see the schedule up close, here is a free printable.
Preliminary Notes!
  • We are doing a gentle nursery time for age 1.
  • We are doing kindergarten (year 0) again for age 5-6.
  • Due to A's birthday falling in September, she is considered as a kindergartener this year by the public school.  So, for simplicity (and required state testing later) we are in year 0.
  • We will be using a modified kindergarten booklist which will be a bit more advanced. We will be doing some Form 1B work this year as well.
I will not be spending a lot of time on this post, because of A's wanting me to play this afternoon. But, let me quickly give you a run-down of the term 1 schedule.

First of all, I am doing something different this year (due to modified plans), I will be lesson planning term-by-term and printing my plans. In this planning series, I will be sharing Term 1 only.

So, the first step in planning, as you are looking over that booklist is to make a doable schedule. I always include that schedule right in my teacher guides.

My time slots are very simple (left column). I like to plan, first, around set mealtimes. Homekeeping and mother culture are included in the time table (right column). I will share more below too.

  • Morning.  From wake time until before 9:00 am. Mother Culture (details below) can happen in the quiet morning hours before children arise. Next, comes Breakfast & Morning Routine (get ready).

  • 9:00 am - Program 1.  Morning Collective is on Mondays: Prayer, Pledge, Calendar, Recitation, Letter-of-Week Art, Picture Book, Nursery Craft & Song. Morning Time is on Tuesday - Thursday: Devotional and Charlotte Mason recitations for form 1.  Nursery Lesson will be together on Mondays (Craft & Song).  I am getting a preschool craft table for this wonderful together time!  9:20 will be Program 1. Modified Christian Study: Old Testament, Old Testament, World History, American History, Geography, Social Study. Last 20 minutes: Outdoor Walk or Gardening.

  • 10:00 am - Program 3. Modified Individual Study: Math, Language Arts, Science, Seatwork (Handwriting, Copywork, Sentences, Fine Motor Skills).

  • 11:00 am - Program 2.  Electives & Enrichments. Electives: Myself, Ballet. Enrichments: Enrichment Study 1 (First Half), Piano Lessons, Singing Lessons.

  • 12:00 - 4:00 pm.  Lunch and Afternoon Occupations. This includes more outdoor time.

  • 5:00 pm.  Dinner as a family around the table & dishes.

  • Evening.  Free time, ballet, library, evening reset.

  • Bedtime.  Children's Hour & Mom's Hour.

Mother's Time-Table (right column).

  • Mother Culture. I will be completing term 1 of A Mother's Companion for a Happy Home - Free Sample. This schedules in everything from devotions, fitness, to beauty, to more.

  • Nursery Lesson, Baby Bath, Baby Walk. This works together with our 9:00 am program and I have a mother's helper (older daughters).

  • Homekeeping. This is fitted-in throughout depending on how we delve out the dutiers. I like to follow the schedules in a vintage book, "Making Housekeeping Easy."

  • Evening Reset. This is going through the home to tidy and close blinds. Setting the breakfast table is an option.
I'd love to hear from you. Be sure to leave a comment fellow homeschool mother!

This is wonderful! So, do you still have older children at home? If so, are they part of this program? If not, how would you combine kindergarten with a bunch of older children? Would you set a time apart for her “lessons” (readings) or just go with the regular Program??

My older children are finished with school and doing college through all states, a CLEP program. It is free. Kindergarten can be done in about 1 hour per day so it can be easily fit into the schedule if you do have older children in middle or high school. I hope that helps.
