How long does it TAKE TO ship my order?
Most orders arrive in 10 business days. (5 days to print + 5 days to ship).
How much is shipping?
I offer $10 flat rate shipping for all US orders, and free US shipping on orders over $100.
Do you ship outside of the usa?
Yes! Currently we ship to some countries. Please inquire below.

We are happy to offer Canadian customers a discounted flat rate of $26 for shipping.

Which teacher guides do i need?
If your child is in preschool or kindergarten, you will only need one guide. If your child is in grade 1 to 12, you will need at least three guides: one guide from program 1 , one guide from program 2, and one guide per grade-level from program 3. 
Do I need a student notebook?
Yes, each student will need one notebook per program. Our student notebook is designed to be used for all 5 years of study or you can use a composition notebook.  
Will I need to buy any other books?
Yes. Although most of our books are available free online, there are a few books on each booklist that will still need to be purchased separately. We like to buy discounted books at thriftbooks.com.

Do i need to enroll?
No, enrollment is necessary! Our free curriculum which includes the online syllabi, schedules, printables, and articles are presented here for FREE use under the terms of our license agreement.

WILL THE teacher guidE SERIES BE CONTINUED?
​Yes! Because we are homeschooling round two, these resources will be created for our own family and shared here. OLDFASHIONEDEDUCATION.org is a free service to homeschool parents, coops, cottage, private, and public schools. As God grants our family time, more lesson plans will be made available, however we cannot fulfill personal requests.

Can I see a free sample?
​Yes! Our teacher guide includes day-by-day lesson plans, worksheets, tests, answer key, planning pages, plus a space for parental record keeping. Download a Free Sample or Download a Free Sample.
How much Parental involvement is required?
Our program provides a peaceful morning schedule from 9:00 to 12:00. If you are using our day-by-day lesson plans, no additional prep time is required. Parents are involved and enjoy reading aloud living books and listening to narrations with their children in Programs 1 and 2, plus guide or assign independent work in Program 3. ​ ​Involvement is easy and enjoyable!​
What Teaching method do you use?
We believe method is best determined by you and according to the needs of your child. Generally, our lesson plans can be described Charlotte Mason-Inspired. We encourage the use of a Recitation Notebook for repetition which aids in memory work. We incorporate many Charlotte Mason and Old-Fashioned methods into our lesson handbooks.  You can learn about our method here.
How does a Family together schedule work?
First, we group several subjects into each program of study. You will not study every subject every day, but instead the subjects are spread throughout the week. Next, we made programs 1 and 2 family together with grade-level assignments. Do 3 lessons per day (1 per program) for a complete curriculum. See how it works.
How do you pick books?
Old Fashioned Education utilizes many wonderful living books and textbooks from the 1800-1900's which have the great advantage of not being dumbed down, not containing political propaganda, and are in the FREE domain. We selected many books from Miss Maggie's original source (plus lots of others through extensive research) to create a family together program of study to share as a free resource from my family to yours.

All Booklists are carefully selected to meet the following criteria:
  1. A balance of Biblical textbooks and living books.
  2. A beautiful and high-quality book in both text and illustrations.
  3. An affordable book that is priced on actual value of printing (price per page) to meet consumer need, not producer want for profit.
  4. A re-sellable book, with a limit of 10% or less in consumable books per booklist.
  5. A book that is available in two formats - printed and free online. *

*Please note!  Our teacher guides are printed commercially which is more affordable than home printing. We receive a small commission which helps to off-set costs to run this website.  A few book selections are available in only one format.
