What should a daily homeschool schedule look like? Simple!  With Old Fashioned Education's FREE online K-12 curriculum, you do just 3 lessons per day - one per program for a complete curriculum. Here's a look at our daily homeschool schedule + free printable!
Before you begin, don't forget breakfast . . .
At 9:00 AM, do 1 family together lesson in Christian Study (1/3 humanities) covering the following subjects:

At 10:00 AM, do 1 family together lesson in Enrichment Study (1/3 fine arts) covering the following subjects:

At 11:00 AM, do 1 lesson in Individual Study (1/3 core skills) covering the following subjects by grade:

That's it!  Of course, you might want to . . .

  • change your start time to 8:30
  • go outdoors daily (in the afternoon or morning as Christian Study is only 30 minutes)

But, as long as you do the 3 lessons per day, you're getting in a balanced and complete curriculum.

Now, let's see if you need to adapt the schedule to fit your family's needs.

Adapting the Schedule

Does your child have better math focus in the morning?  If so, move Individual Study forward in your schedule.

Try this . . .
  • 9:00 AM - Program 1: Christian Study
  • 10:00 AM - Program 3: Individual Study
  • 11:00 AM - Program 2: Enrichment Study

Or try this . . .
  • 9:00 AM - Program 1: Christian Study (1st Half)
  • 9:30 AM - Program 3: Individual Study
  • 10:30 AM - Program 1: Christian Study (2nd Half)
  • 11:00 AM - Program 2: Enrichment Study

Adapting to Multiple Grade-Levels

Do you have more than 1 grade-level to teach? If so, use this schedule for teaching Individual Study. Here's a look at Day 1 with 3 students.

Block 1: Teach Math (Day 1 to 4) to your youngest child while the other students complete their Seatwork. (Seatwork includes Reading, Writing, and Spelling practice.)

Remember to check-in with older students on their daily Math work. Their daily grade will indicate if your child needs extra practice or help.

Block 2: Read Science (on Days 1 and 3) to your whole family with our Enjoying Science Together Program plus grade-level assignments. Nature Study is also enjoyed on Day 4 of Enrichment Study.

Block 3: Teach Language Arts (on Days 2 and 4) to your younger children as a together grammar lesson, while older children work independently.

Adapting to Multiple Curriculums

If you have a curriculum, class, or co-op that is enriching your homeschool life, you can easily adapt our schedule to meet your needs.  Why? Because we have a 4-day schedule.

Sample 1: Classical Conversations or Co-op
  • Day 1 - 4: OFE Programs + CC memory work
  • Day 5: CC Meeting

Sample 2: Charlotte Mason Enrichment Co-op
  • Day 1-4: OFE Programs (Enrichments, optional)
  • Day 5: CM Co-op
